What improvement should be made to make modern beauty pageants more beneficial to the society?
we know that modern beauty pageants have certain stigma in the society, that beauty pageants are merely superficial contests searching for physical beauty without enough emphasis on inner beauty. so, what and on which area of beauty pageant that needs reconstructions and how can it be done?What improvement should be made to make modern beauty pageants more beneficial to the society?

No makeup, no fake fingernails or fake hair and noone under the size of 14 allowed. That would pretty much make the women ';real'; and more like reality and it would be based on what's inside that counts type of thing.
Traditionally, pageants were outwardly shallow beauty contests. When society began to reject this ideal, they began to try to make up for it by giving scholarships and emphasizing charity. These types of changes, however, are shallow themselves. The message now appears to be ';young women should get good grades and be involved in social or political causes, and they should look good while they do it.'; The emphasis is still on looks. In my mind, no change could be made to the beauty pageant that would change this, as putting girls (I say girls not only because of the abbhorent presence of child beauty pageants, but because often participants in pageants are very young) on display like dogs is inherently worthless.
i think pageants should stick to what are its main objective, mission and there visions. IF there objective is to find a person who will represent the universe, to promote peace and help the ';poor'; people/countries then so be it, the contest should be who among many women in the world have than the objectives should be the winner and forget the display of gowns, bathing suits, talents and question and answer.
If you ask me the late Mother Theresa should be a grand slam Ms. Universe, for what she have done and that for me was the woman who symbolizes what a woman of the universe should be.
They should be topless and wear g-strings / thongs...

If anything should be changed it would be the marketting of it to place more emphasis on how talented these women realy are .you dont have to diminish beauty to promote talent tho .

First, take a good honest look at yourself. If you are fat or plain ugly save your money and spend it on an education. If you are fat/ugly and dumb then give any money you have to your parents. If you have the potential to be hot then spend all the money necessary to get your hooks into a rich guy. Be sure to get knocked up ASAP as ones looks soon fade but that brat will keep the money flowing for at least 18 years.
i dont think u should spend alot of money, i say only when ur stuff is finished, u should buy more, or if u really need it. u can get a manicure/pedicure every two weeks. hair doesnt need to be cut so often, so maybe u can get a trim once every two months or something like that. if u ask me, it sounds like u are just looking for a way to foolishly spend money. u dont always need to put on makeup

You're setting yourself up for possible disappointment. I think it's a form of child abuse. Look at what happened to Jon Benet. That's just sick. Killing a beautiful child because you're jealous.
I hope the family got the justice they deserved.
On a brighter note, there is nothing wrong with a toddler who wants to dress up, wear make up, and have people admire them. Some of them want it because they like the attention.

Legally, a beauty supply store cannot sell contact lenses to you. They can only be obtained with a valid prescription from an Optometrist, EVEN IF YOU ONLY WANT THEM FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES. We're not talking about eye shadow here; or lip gloss; or hair color. Contact lenses are a medical device and you need to be fitted for them by a doctor, even if you only want them to change the color of your eyes. You'll need an exam and a contact lens fitting. When it comes to contact lenses, the risk of infection and possible vision loss is the same, whether the lenses have an actual correction in them, or you just want to turn your brown eyes blue. And there are serious complications, including blindness, from wearing contact lenses that are not fitted properly. Everyone's eye has different measurments and contacts don't come one-size-fits-all. And you don't know which lenses you need in which base curve and diameter unless you've been fitted by an Optometrist.
Call an eye doctor, make an appointment, and be fitted with them.

It actually says ';federal law prohibits dispensing without a prescription'; right on the contact lens box. if someone is actually selling lenses in a beauty store they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit from some parent when there child has a corneal abrasion or worse.

It's irresponsible to just buy contact lenses. You should get a qualified optician to fit them for you. They will measure your eyes to select a lens that fits well. They will also teach you everything you need to know about how to take care of your lenses and your eyes.
Go to your opticians and ask them how to book in for an appointment- good luck!

And there are serious complications, including blindness, from wearing contact lenses that are not fitted properly. Everyone's eye has different measurments and contacts don't come one-size-fits-all. And you don't know which lenses you need in which base curve and diameter unless you've been fitted by an Optometrist.
Call an eye doctor, make an appointment, and be fitted with them.

It actually says ';federal law prohibits dispensing without a prescription'; right on the contact lens box. if someone is actually selling lenses in a beauty store they are setting themselves up for a lawsuit from some parent when there child has a corneal abrasion or worse.

It's irresponsible to just buy contact lenses. You should get a qualified optician to fit them for you. They will measure your eyes to select a lens that fits well. They will also teach you everything you need to know about how to take care of your lenses and your eyes.

Are PHEAA & PELL offered to students of Beauty Schools?
Can you get the standard grants and loans like the Federal Stafford Loans, Pell Grants, State grants and loans that you would typcially be offered at a standard college?Are PHEAA %26amp; PELL offered to students of Beauty Schools?
Yes, students can get Pell grants and sometimes student loans at proprietary schools like beauty schools. ie Welding, LPN, etc. Usually these programs are called Certificate programs - also allowed under federal regulations.
But they have to be a certain length in order to qualify. (For example, you may be able to get a Pell grant for the 1 year beauty school, but not just for the nail program. Or you could get it for a 1 year nursing certificate, but not for your CNA. Truck driving schools usually don't qualify becase they are too short as well.)
Some schools are not eligible to receive these funds however, or some will only allow the grants and not do loans. You will need to check out each school for sure. I'm attaching a link to the Dept of Eds approved schools.
Of course you would still need to qualify for the grant based on income and such.

Can egg yolks be used for beauty enhancements or remedies?
It's GREAT for your skin. It's packed with protein, which is good. And it's kinda like getting botox.... idk how it works but my aunt, shes 50, does it ALL the time and she doesn't look like she's aging quickly. This is how she does it:
1. get the egg yolk
2. mix it up like ur making cake or something
3. put it on ur face for around 30 minutes, or untill its fully dry
4. rinse well, or ur face will smell like rotten eggs for a couple of days

Beauty pagents for a 21 month old but my husband says NO?
James and I have the most beutiful litle girl in the world Morgan. I wanted to enter her in a beauty pagent. But my her dad said no way no how. When I tried to talk to him aboutt it he just said that he was older and knew better that was the end of it. i'm 18 Hes 26 does he have the right to make that decision just like that or should I keep on what do I say to convince him.Beauty pagents for a 21 month old but my husband says NO?
Maybe instead of the two of you both insisting that you know what is right, you should compromise. For his to say ';I'm older and I know better'; is a ridiculous and immature thing to say to someone. That being said, I do think beauty pagents are a positive thing nowadays.
When I was a child I was in one, however all it involved was me putting on a pretty dress (NO MAKEUP) and walking around, during curtseys.
Today they typically plaster children in makeup, giving them negative body images from a young age. I think you should keep your child out of the pagents.

Then there's the Miss America Pageant... for goodness sake, some of the women are still tap dancing. That's not talent! That's desperation!
Please, do your daughter a favor and put her in play groups, music lessons and sports, and let her use her looks as an positive attribute to the already perfect person that she is!!

i think we as a nation are dumber for listening to most answers given by girls in beauty pageant's... and dont say that all those girls a really smart and going to college and what not... i know a lot of strippers going to med school... i have yet to meet a hot doctor

That reminds me of a programme i was watching last night about the 1st ever UK beauty pageant for young girls.. some aged only 6. The parents were really pushy and were trying to make their children look/act older. They should let them be kids. And to bo honest i think pageants are more about the way you look... otherwise what purpose to they serve.
I don't like them it makes the losers of the pageant feel bad and makes little girls think they're ugly if they don't win. It is very damaging to the losers they are just little girls and don't need that kind of pressure.
If you're like 20 I don't see the problem, but when you're under 16 or well like 12 it's just weird. Those little girl beauty pageants are freaky. Little girls shouldn't be playing with makeup, except for smearing mommy's lipstick on their face occasionally.
I think the people that participate in them look fake, act fake and are fake.

I would presume that one would first need knowledge of the cosmetology field, perhaps even certification as a cosmetologist, and also finding out about how to implement an accredited cosmetology (and/or skin care/esthetician and nail technican) curriculum. Some cosmetology programs offer a program for those stylists that would like to become actual cosmetology teachers. since im a woman, i think, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, plus their inner strength and characters, that includes their mentality as well.
but if you are talking about features, either by facial or body. usually, the guy looks by the shape or color of the girl's eyes, kissable lips, curve of her body and shapely legs. i know cause i have four brothers, and 2 play brothers that tells me their dream girl.
well, i did ask my husband about his definition of a beauty in a woman. he said, pretty, witty, smart, un-conceited that makes a woman beautiful through his eyes. im not sure if he is describing me or another woman...ha-ha...
Confident, yet down to earth.
doesn't take SH*T from people, likes to do cool stuff, is sexy (has curves like Pamela Anderson, but with smaller ****), has smooth and unblemished skin, doesn't wear make-up, and has seductive eyes.
Many different types of physical features are attractive; there is no one race/hair color/body type. Proportionality is key. Thin (but not anorexic). Lips. Eyes. Smile. Hair. Legs. Breasts. Hips. Skin. Hair. The whole package.
The worst thing is the Barbie-fake plastic girls or the kinds that are fat or have butch hair cuts. Being smart and interesting makes up for not being sexy, but can only go so far.

First of all beauty is very relative. So, it lies in the eyes of the behest. There are two categories we can define related to how the beauty appears to us.
Short term - Good looking with nice features. This lady may look beautiful but can be the ugliest person on the earth on the long run (once you are used to her beauty). Her beauty will decrease over the time.
Long term - Nice heart. This lady may look ugly initially but can be the most beautiful woman on the earth. Her beauty will only increase with the time.
One with beautiful body and nice heart is the one you are looking for. They are little hard to get.
Same applies for men also.

As you are waiting for the water to boil, get two big towels, a face cloth, a small towel, some kind of facial cleaner (I use neutragena deep clean) and if you want a toner tab from lush, but thats not necessary. Then also get some straws. Put one towel down on the table, and put the bowel of boiling water on top of it (to make sure not to damage the table or get water everywhere), then put your head over the bowel, put the towel over your head, to keep the steam in, like a tent, and let the steam open your pores, you can put a few straws in your mouth and let them poke out of the towel so you can breath some cool, dry air. After about three minuets or so, get the face cloth, and rub of the facial cleanser, and then put your face in the cold water to get it off and close your pores, then put your head back under the towel and let your pores open again, do this for about five minuets or so, and then put your face back in the ice water to close up all your pores, and you can pat your face off with the clean small towel. Europeans, tend to go more for economy than looks. As you know, we Americans are rich!!!

So what we see is not the appearance they were naturally born with like the rest of us. The majority of women can't afford cosmetic surgery since most health insurances won't cover it. I wish we had more images of real women without plastic surgery in the mass media.

I agree that there is a problem with the extreme thinness of models and actresses right now. However I actually think that uniqueness is more celebrated now than ever before. Top models no longer have tiny turned up noses and big blue eyes. Top models are often very exotic looking. You see models of every ethnicity some with big noses, close set eyes, square jaws, %26amp; over sized teeth. These women are beautiful because of their oddness and now that is finally being recognized. Models in past decades had healthier bodies, yes, but they all had the same face.

I'm from South Dakota and have attended the bike rally for years....i was actually taken aback when McCain ';suggested'; she participate....the pageant is nothing more than a glorified strip tease...(the videos you see on the news are ';clean'; cuts)...Cindy is indeed a beautiful woman and would probably wipe the floor with the other contestants...but Geez, Mccain..do some research before you write these speeches...

I have alot of brown beauty marks all over my body will that disqualify me from the US Marines?
