Have you been in a child beauty pageant? Was it like the ones shown in the Living Dolls or Little Beauties?

I am writing a paper on child beauty pageants and I would appreciate and information on personal experience. I have been in pageants myself but not so young. Please tell me about your experience, what was it like? what did your parent's think? Etc. Thanks!Have you been in a child beauty pageant? Was it like the ones shown in the Living Dolls or Little Beauties?
i wish i was actually..i was quite good looking when i was young and it might have given me more confidence later on.

but people say they're bad for sexualizing children and attracting paedophiles

like what happened with jonbenet ramsey

What improvement should be made to make modern beauty pageants more beneficial to the society?

we know that modern beauty pageants have certain stigma in the society, that beauty pageants are merely superficial contests searching for physical beauty without enough emphasis on inner beauty. so, what and on which area of beauty pageant that needs reconstructions and how can it be done? What improvement should be made to make modern beauty pageants more beneficial to the society?
Bigger hOOters, and porno.

Amen. What improvement should be made to make modern beauty pageants more beneficial to the society?
perhaps if there is a point to them,an objective, except entertainment?

perhaps if ther winners made an actual difference in the world instead of just looking nice?
No makeup, no fake fingernails or fake hair and noone under the size of 14 allowed. That would pretty much make the women ';real'; and more like reality and it would be based on what's inside that counts type of thing.
Traditionally, pageants were outwardly shallow beauty contests. When society began to reject this ideal, they began to try to make up for it by giving scholarships and emphasizing charity. These types of changes, however, are shallow themselves. The message now appears to be ';young women should get good grades and be involved in social or political causes, and they should look good while they do it.'; The emphasis is still on looks. In my mind, no change could be made to the beauty pageant that would change this, as putting girls (I say girls not only because of the abbhorent presence of child beauty pageants, but because often participants in pageants are very young) on display like dogs is inherently worthless.
i think pageants should stick to what are its main objective, mission and there visions. IF there objective is to find a person who will represent the universe, to promote peace and help the ';poor'; people/countries then so be it, the contest should be who among many women in the world have than the objectives should be the winner and forget the display of gowns, bathing suits, talents and question and answer.

If you ask me the late Mother Theresa should be a grand slam Ms. Universe, for what she have done and that for me was the woman who symbolizes what a woman of the universe should be.
They should be topless and wear g-strings / thongs...
i liked it when when the miss america pagent had there models barefoot one year.

then again im a foot fetishist .

Beauty pagent contestents for the most part are extremely talented .

If anything should be changed it would be the marketting of it to place more emphasis on how talented these women realy are .you dont have to diminish beauty to promote talent tho .
say that the girls cannot wear makeup..to show who they really are and not a mask.

Did I get so caught up in the Politics of the day, that I missed Beauty contests being changed into Gay agenda?

I remember when it was all about Beautiful Women in Bathing Suits and High Heals. (Heterosexual attraction Hot Babes)

I guess now it's all about promoting diverse sexuality and the ability to raise children outside of the Traditional FamilyDid I get so caught up in the Politics of the day, that I missed Beauty contests being changed into Gay agenda?
It was wrong to bring politics into a beauty pageant. If they are going to bring in a controversial question, ask the same question to all of them.Did I get so caught up in the Politics of the day, that I missed Beauty contests being changed into Gay agenda?
I agree. It used to be that guys could turn the channel to the beauty contest, to watch beautiful women, with no question. Now if you tell someone you watched it, you may hear ';Oh, so you like watching beauty pageants huh?....are you gay?';. Lol....it's true.

I like all the people on here calling you a ';hater';, just because you point out the freaking obvious. What is wrong with people today? I think they're nuts.
The Irony is, She is getting more attention than the actual winner. Thank you Perez Hilton. He actually said in an interview that if she won he would have walked up on stage and snatched the tiara off of her head.

Nice Guy Huh?

It's a shame too because the gay people I am friends are pleasant people who thinks he is an ***.
great question. it was not fair to her to be set up like this. i respect her answer because she said what she was taught and believes in. the gay militia is hurting their cause by responding the way they are. they are proving that they want everyone to think as they do. lets all say it together ...hypocrites
or maybe it was just a bad answer... opposite marriage? whats that? and ';in my country';... well actually in her country gay marriage is legal in certain states. The other girls questions were harder and... they gave better answer.

everything is not about you poor conservatives...
You are correct. Just think next year your drinking buddies or football buddies may be in and the gay guy would vote for them . I see viewer numbers dropping like a lead balloon.
Maybe this judge wanted to be in the contest.

I mean since he's gay...........doesn't that make seance?

So he does have an agenda.
I know right, and since when is a gay man a judge for a beautiful woman contest. That makes a whole lot of sense
Soon, you will have Miss Transexual America......
Perez is just pissed because she looks better in high heels than him lol
I agree it sure seems like being straight is getting to be very unpopular! Good thing they cant breed
Great question. And and I guess quite a few of didn't get that memo
Does anyone actually watch that thing anymore? How much more bad PR do they need?
good point

Is it OK to say to a mother of her newborn baby, ';don't worry, beauty is over-rated';?

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. but no, no baby is ugly, and if anyone said that about my kids id be very tempted to either politely hand them a mirror or punch them. it depends on my mood.Is it OK to say to a mother of her newborn baby, ';don't worry, beauty is over-rated';?
Oh that's funny! Reminds me of the Dilbert cartoon where Dilbert asks Dogbert what you're supposed to say when a coworker brings her new baby to the office. Dogbert says ';Precious usually works.'; Dilbert says, ';Judging from her reaction, 'bug ugly' was not a good response.';Is it OK to say to a mother of her newborn baby, ';don't worry, beauty is over-rated';?
kinda of

answer mine please

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>
That's rude and I feel really sorry for the baby. It can't help the way it looks. And the parents should be insulted, because they made the baby.
Absolutely not, I would be super offended if someone said that to me about any of my future kids.
No. Why would you even think it could be. That's not nice.
Don't do it. They have enough left-over hormones in them to knock you into next Tuesday.
i dont think so...if someone said that to me i'd be like ';yeah you would say that, wouldn't you?';
Yes

and then say '; and I'm sure you'll look nicer after you lose all that fat anyway';
It would be a mean thing to do so don't do it.
come on, don't be an ***. don't worry intelligence is over rated. how did that feel?
Um. .NO!
No. That's rude and insensitive.

=]
Hell no, that's mean.
I wouldn't, but that's just me.
if you'd like to get punched in the face.
no.
no its not
